Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose

We spent a Saturday morning at the Children's Discovery Museum with the kids. It reminded us of the Questacon in Canberra, except that the CDM had a lot more hands-on activities for younger kids.

As you enter the museum, you are greeted by an almost life-sized fire truck where the kids can deck out in their very own firemen outfits complete with helmets and climb aboard with the help of a step stool.

On the ground level, there are many hands-on stations where kids are free to explore and develop their imagination and creativity at their own pace.

The kids were highly amused by their needle face creation

The favourite section was without a doubt the water play area. It was divided into 2 areas - one for younger tots, targeted at ages about 3 and under; and one for older kids. The kids spent the longest time here, getting wet and having a tonne of fun.

There was plenty more in the upper level of the museum, but unfortunately we didn't have that much time as we wanted to check out some Vietnamese cuisine in the area. But you could easily spend an entire day here with your children.

We hope to come back again soon!

We are in the Bay area!

It's been almost 2 months since we've moved to the Bay Area in San Francisco, California. We packed up our entire household, flew 20+ hours from Asia and after getting over jet lag and settling into our new home, we've been keeping ourselves busy exploring this gorgeous part of the world. I should've started this blog earlier, but relocating is rather time consuming and energy zapping. Nevertheless, better late than never!

So to all our friends and family, you can keep updated on what we've been up to on this blog. To all our Bay area friends, we hope that this will give you some ideas on where to go and please feel free to share with us where you've been going too, so that we can check it out. :)

In the mean time, enjoy the pic of the kids having a ball in the wonderful playgrounds we have here!
